All is fair in war and love. But not in fashion. An army of stylish warriors has marched on the catwalks of New York Fashion Week, which celebrated the triumph of military style and took a heavy toll of (fashion) victims.
Gisele Bündchen guided a platoon of supermodels at Alexander Wang’s show, wearing a military black leather trench coat on the runway, while Cara Delevingne austerely modelled for Burberry Prorsum pre-fall collection.

À la guerre comme à la guerre, like they say in France. So go check your munitions: trench coats, pencil skirts, leather boots, epaulets and golden buttons join together to create sexy uniforms. The palette is played on charcoal black, pewter greys, military greens, khaki and mahogany, with a preponderance of burgundy – which will be trend color this fall.
Military is sexy. Lara Croft is the “living” proof. Camouflage pants and combat shorts are big this season, and the trend is taking over control for the rest of the year. The square cuts and clear lines concur in creating that kind of “mistress” allure that can hardly be resisted.
